Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Skincare has a long history of treating one kind of skin as the default. A product that recommends routines has to do better than that, and so does the team building it.

  • Every skin tone and type
  • Accessible by default
  • A fair place to work

In the product

Skin analysis and recommendations have to work across the full range of skin tones and types. Where a concern presents differently on deeper skin - hyperpigmentation and post-inflammatory marks especially - the guidance has to reflect that rather than restate advice written for one group.

In who we show

The faces and the examples across the site should look like the people using it. We treat a narrow range of imagery as a product defect, not a styling choice.

In how we build

Accessibility is part of this: a site that locks out people using a screen reader or a keyboard is not serving everyone. Our accessibility statement sets out the standard we hold ourselves to.

In the team

We hire on what someone can do and how they think, we pay for the role rather than for how hard someone negotiates, and we expect everyone here to be able to raise a concern and be heard.
